MYTH # 6:  Westonka says “We work hard to be good stewards of your tax dollars”

FACT:  A good steward of taxpayer money would never allow millions of dollars of waste in bond ballot questions:   































MYTH # 7:  The $23.3 Million & and the $6.6 Million Facility Bond questions on the ballot are well thought out and the School Board thinks it’s a good idea.

FACT:   The School Board was of split opinions on the $29.9 Million bond proposal.  Board members Gary Hejna, Tom Notch and Margie Saatzer voted against putting the plan to the public  because in their opinion, the plans still contained an unacceptable level of waste and they didn’t think voters would approve such a sizable bond at this time.

MYTH # 8: Bond Ballot Question 2 Provides $23.3 Million for deferred maintenance and Question 3 Provides $6.6 Million for improvements to learning environments….

FACT:  The Westonka bond questions on the ballot contain an unacceptable level of waste [details here] approved on a 4 to 3 split board vote.  Supporting the $29.9 Million Bond questions were board members Dave Botts, Ann Bremer, Keith Foerster, Gary Wollner and board candidates voicing support are Ralph Harrison & David Bond. Voting against the $29.9 Million proposal were Gary Hejna, Tom Notch and Margie Saatzer and board candidate Don Mailey has voiced opposition. 
 
FACT:  During Facility committee proceedings, upon hearing the $29.9 Million proposed bond price tag, then finding waste and errors and sensing that the community would not support a bond of this magnitude, Board members Gary Hejna, Tom Notch & Margie Saatzer researched & created a $16.4 Million Bond Plan [details here], which is NOT on the ballot. The Hejna/Notch/Saatzer plan would provide air conditioning at Grandview, which the $29.9 Million bond on the ballot does not.
